We’re located within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a stunning landscape of ancient woods, gently meandering chalk springs, and rolling downland, offering peace, quiet and relaxation.
I returned to Highway Hill campsite for a long weekend, this time with a large, multi-generational group of extended family, filling all the shepherds huts and bell tents, plus several other tents that we brought with us.
it was good to see children running around the campsite, and to enjoy all morning breakfasts and board games in the large communal tent provided by Highway Hill. We loved seeing all the animals too, especially the day old baby goat, which the children ( and adults ! ) got to cuddle, and exploring the fields and woods.
Despite changeable weather, we had an excellent experience at Highway Hill, and we will definitely be back
I stayed in a Highway Hill shepherds hut recently, and my boys stayed in a bell tent. Both were beautifully furnished, comfy and cosy. We loved them, and had a really good night’s sleep, and enjoyed waking up to birdsong and sunshine. We are going again next month – can’t wait!

Living locally, I planned to attend one day of the retreat only. However, I enjoyed it so much that I moved my diary to be able to fit in another day. Lovely rural area and farm environment with great space in the hay loft for yoga which was so relaxing and restorative.”
Thank you, I enjoyed my time at Highway Hill and think you have great potential and wish you well in the future.
Stayed in a lovely Shepherds hut for one night. The hut decor is rustic modern with great finishing touches such as fairy lights and filtered coffee! A perfect retreat for a romantic night/weekend away or a small group gathering. Loved the man made fire pit. Also, shout out to Bianca who was extremely welcoming. I would love to return one day!
A really wonderful space, just the right amount of luxury while still feeling closer to nature and the outdoors than I have done in a long time. The hut was beautiful with a very comfy bed and an efficient wood burning stove for chilly nights.
I loved my shepherd’s hut and I still think of it very much as my hut! The hut was clean and the interior was well thought out and decorated beautifully! I loved all the pillows on the bed meaning I could make myself a little pillow den and get really cosy for reading or just napping. The bed was lovely and comfortable making it difficult to get out of in the mornings.
The facilities were great. Showers were hot and plenty of toilets for the group! The hayloft where we practiced yoga was perfect with really lovely lighting and the beams were handy to hold on to when trying to balance. All the communal areas were kept clean and tidy.
